Kristy Schultz Floor Lamp September 14th, 2018 - 04:08:12
Three light floor lamp base before we get started, I'm going to show you the tools you're going to need to use. These are the tools you'll need, you'll need, a pair of wire cutters and strippers electrical tape, wire connectors and also Locate red 271. Okay, I want to say a couple of things about this thread locker 271. It will set up in 10 minutes, but it takes a full 24 hours to cure, but once it cures it is on there solid. It will not come off this stuff. Right here has to be heated at 450 degrees for 5 minutes before it actually will loosen up where you can actually get the part out all right.
The first thing I want to say is you may or may not have to cut your wires. I did strictly because, when I put the thread Locker on this piece right here, the wire itself just that little bit of wire was moving this around and it wouldn't sit flush and I needed to it for it to sit flush so that it can sit flush With the base, so I had to cut the wire. That was the only way I could do. It then won't come back with wire, connectors, and wire connects, those wires together to that and to the rest of the lamp - and this is the piece right here that has to be flush at the bottom of the base.
Now I want to show you the threads here are the threads on the inside, and then you have these threads right here that you need to put thread locker on to this piece. Not this piece, that's the only way I can show you this. Another thing also is this has two little flat sides on it? Don't know why, but it does, and it is already connected with some kind of thread Locker of some sort. This one is was completely round all the way around. I don't know I guess it was just some type of part they decided to do it. That way, I don't know, but all I know is, is that this piece right here needed to have a thread Locker on it because when you placed it on here, it would not sit flat anymore.
It just kept wobbling and then finally, after a while it just came off this screw right here or this little bolt, whatever you want to call it and then basically I'll you're holding the whole lamp in your hand and the base is sitting on the floor now. I picked this up on a recycling run and it looked like a good lamp and I wanted to keep it so I decided I'm going to fix this lamp. So that's what I'm going to show you I've already wired or cut, and I am going to wire these things up, show you how to do that now. Okay, the first thing you need to do is get the wire through this part of your lamp screw. It on makes sure it's tight. There we go. Okay, that's the first thing you do.
Okay, the first thing you want to do is get your wires and then you are going to connect the two wires, I'm right-handed, so I turned to the right. Also. I turn to the right with the wire connector they're connected and come to the next one. Do the same thing now it's connected all right now you have those two connected and now what you do is get you some electrical tape all right. Now that you have your electrical tape, you want to tape it. I usually start at the bottom. I don't know I don't know if it's any reason why that you would want to do it, but I cover the whole thing and I come all the way back down that way. I know that the piece is secure.
I'll do the other one all right, that parts done not too hard. Now what I'll do it. I will actually do the second step. You don't have to do this, but I'm going to this way. I know it's completely covered and if the wires come disconnected, I'm not going to get electrocuted now. This may seem like it's a lot of electrical tapes, but electrical tape is pretty cheap. So it's up to you. If you want to do this, I just do it for an extra precaution. Now both sides are completely seen.
